Day 1: Durban, South Africa

Emabark MSC Lirica today for your 27 Night cruise to Venice. Durban is South Africa’s third-largest city and the continent’s largest port. Durban’s expansive beachfront on the eastern edge of the centre has one of the city’s busiest concentrations of restaurants, a surfeit of tacky family entertainment. Visit the bazaars, alleyways and mosques that make up the Indian area around Dr Yusuf Dadoo Street.

Day 5: La Possession, Reunion

Day 6: Port Louis, Mauritius
Port Louis is the capital city of Mauritius. Known for its French colonial architecture and the 19th-century Champ de Mars horse-racing track. The Caudan Waterfront is a lively dining and shopping precinct. Nearby, vendors sell local produce and handicrafts at the huge Central Market. The Blue Penny Museum focuses on the island’s colonial and maritime history & culture.

Day 12: Salalah, Oman
Salalah is a vibrant and colourful place full of history and character. It’s located in the Dhofar region of Oman, a region famous for its unique weather locally known as Khareef. This annual monsoon transforms the desert terrain into a lush, green landscape teeming with seasonal waterfalls.

Day 17: Aqaba, Jordan
Aqaba has been inhabited since 4000 B.C., located on the Gulf of Aqaba in the Red Sea. Filled with countless beach resorts, the area is popular for water sports and home to incredible reef structures for scuba divers.

Day 18-19: Suez Canal, Egypt (Transit)
The Suez Canal connects the Mediterranean and Red Sea and was built by the Suez Canal Company back in 1869. It is one of the great innovations that has lasted into the modern world.

Day 20: Jerusalem (Ashdod), Israel
Jerusalem is located in the Middle East, perched on a plateau in the Judaean Mountains. This holy city finds itself between the Mediterranean and the Dead Sea and is recognised as one of the oldest cities in existence. Steeped in religious content, it is considered holy to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. Fun Fact – the old city walls were built back in 1541!

Day 21: Haifa, Israel
Haifa, a large port located in northern Israel, is the perfect setting off point for excursions. For example, a tour of places described in the Bible. After visiting places such as Bethlehem, Nazareth, Cana and Jerusalem. if you are more interested in history and are not afraid of to get a little tired, an excursion to Massada will take you to the top of the mountain where the Jews took their last stand against the Romans. A short distance from Massada sits a landlocked lake that is so salty that it has been nicknamed the Dead Sea. You will be able to reach the bubbling city of Tel Aviv, it is considered, for good reason, the most modern city in Israel.

Day 22: Limassol, Cyprus
Limassol – or Lemoses – is the second largest urban area in Cyprus, this is a bustling and vibrant city with plenty to offer. The compact centre snakes around an old castle, and is packed with boutiques, restaurants and bars.

Day 23: Rhodes, Greece
Rhodes is positioned off the coast of Turkey and blends history and beauty in to one. You are guaranteed to be in awe of the Grand Masters Palace and the old fortified city provides a great walk back in time.

Day 24: Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey
Ephesus was an ancient Greek city on the coast of Iona in Turkey. It is said that this city of Ephesus was created by Androclosthe son of the king of Athens. Take a trip to see the 10th-century ruins there including the Temple of Artemis a shrine of the goddess Artemis. Ephesus is also said to be home the House of Virgin Mary, as well as the St John Basilica.

Day 25: Athens, Greece
Welcome to Piraeus, the port city of Athens. It is the oldest city in Greece, a guaranteed highlight is the mystical Acropolis, perched high in the hills. Just because this city is vintage don’t think that you’ll be stuck in the past – it is juxtaposed against a modern city filled with shopping, restaurants, culture and beautiful art.

Day 27: Split, Croatia
This Mediterranean city on the eastern shores of the Adriatic has a long and eventful history dating back to the awesome Diocletian’s Palace (circa 295 A.D.) in the centre of the city. Split offers cruise guests a wealth of exciting places to visit, from the majestic cathedral and marble streets in the centre of town to the harbour area with its cafe-filled promenades and views of coastal mountains.

Day 28: Venice, Italy
You could start a discussion about Venice by praising its restaurants, wine bars, marble churches or blown glass. But you probably won’t. You’ll likely start with the fact that Venice is built on water. It is a place where people either float slowly down palace-lined man-made waterways or stroll down narrow alleyways. There’s no more of an extraordinary place to find yourself, or lose yourself.
