Day 1: Arrive Perth
Upon arrival, make your own way to the hotel in the city, a breezy 30 minutes away from the airport. Perth is celebrated for its beautiful weather, spectacularly unspoilt coastlines and incredibly relaxed outdoor lifestyle. Get a taste of world-famous wine regions and award-winning restaurants right at your fingertips.
Day 2: Rottnest Island Bayseeker Tour (B)
Enjoy a pick up from your hotel to your ferry transfer across to Rottnest Island. Explore the beauty of Rottnest Island in air-conditioned comfort on a 1 hour and 45 minute coach tour with live commentary. Take in the amazing flora and fauna of the island, striking beaches, woodlands and incredible salt lake. This tour includes all of Rottnest’s must-see locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, the majestic look-out point at Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh. There will be plenty of opportunities to capture your very own Quokka selfie whilst also learning about the colonial and maritime history of this magnificent island from your expert Coach Captains. Transfer back to your Perth accommodation late this afternoon.
Day 3: Swan Valley Gourmet Wine River Cruise (B, L)
Make your own way to the Pier 3 Barrack St Jetty to board your cruise upstream the Swan River. Take in the stunning views as you enjoy morning tea with freshly brewed Yahava coffee and baked muffins. Experience your first taste of premium Western Australian wine and cheese onboard. Arrive at the prestigious Sandalford Estate for a special behind the scenes wine-making tour and walkthrough, followed by an indulgent two-course gourmet lunch and tasting of six premium wines – with a glass of your favourite for lunch. Proceed through to the cellar door and gift shop to browse the full selection of wine and gifts available for purchase before heading back onboard for dessert, all-inclusive wine and live entertainment on your return to the Jetty this evening.
Day 4: Perth Free Day (B)
Today is free for you to explore Perth at your own pace. Soak up the amazing outdoors or enjoy a few cold drinks at the thriving metropolis of laneway bars. Perhaps wander the nearby city of Fremantle’s winding portside streets.
Day 5: Board the Indian Pacific in Perth, Golden Outback (B, L, D)
Make your own way to East Perth Terminal for a mid-morning departure aboard the legendary Indian Pacific. Your fabled journey from the Indian Ocean to the Pacific Ocean begins as you settle into your comfortable cabin and get to know the creature comforts of life onboard. Enjoy a modern Australian lunch as you glide through the picturesque rolling hills of the Avon Valley. After a relaxing afternoon onboard, enjoy a three-course dinner prior to your late evening arrival in the wild west township of Kalgoorlie.
Day 6: Indian Pacific, Nullarbor Plain (B, L, D)
Awake to the spectacular expanse of the Nullarbor Plain to watch the sunrise. Be captivated by the big blue skies and ancient stillness of the desert landscape, broken only by a mob of friendly kangaroos. Waiting ahead is the charm of the once-thriving Nullarbor railway community – now ghost town – of Cook. Sit back and relax as the train continues its trek across the longest single stretch of railway in the world. Another mouth-watering dinner is followed by relaxed conversation in the lounge before a restful night’s sleep.
Day 7: Indian Pacific, Adelaide & Broken Hill (B, L, D)
As the landscape changes again and rich ochre sands make way for forests and farmlands, you will arrive into charming Adelaide. You have the choice of a walking tour (seasonal), a behind-the-scenes tour of the world famous Adelaide Oval, or a coach tour of the city sights. This evening you’ll enjoy a stop at Broken Hill, Australia’s silver capital and frontier outback town home to a unique artistic community.
Day 8: Indian Pacific, Blue Mountains & Sydney (B)
Take in the full spectacle of the Three Sisters and Jamison Valley with a morning excursion to the Blue Mountains before arriving on a chartered service to Sydney at approximately 3:15pm (time is subject to change). Alternatively, stay onboard the Indian Pacific arriving directly into Sydney at approximately 12:45pm (time is subject to change). Make your own way to the airport if you’re flying out this evening.
Fly to Perth for an unforgettable Rottnest Island experience, followed by a gourmet wine cruise up the scenic Swan River.
Then, experience a kaleidoscope of Australian landscapes on an epic coast to coast expedition aboard the iconic Indian Pacific to Sydney.
Indulge in immersive off train experiences on your journey from the Golden Outback through the Nullabor Plain and South Australia’s rolling hills en route to the Blue Mountains.
You will enjoy free time to unwind in the lavish comfort of your Gold Service cabin and brand new centrally located Perth accommodation.
