Day 1: Oslo, Norway

Welcome to Europe! Upon arrival into Oslo airport, be met and transferred to your Oslo hotel for the night.

Day 2: Oslo – Geilo, Norway

After breakfast today, take in the highlights of Oslo on a locally guided city tour. See historically significant and beautifully preserved buildings including te Opera House and Akershus medieval fortress. Enjoy time to wander the peaceful Frogner Park and adjacent Vigeland Park, filled with the sculptural works of Norwegian artist, Gustav Vigeland. Later, relax on the comfortable coach and enjoy the scenery as you travel west into Geilo.

Day 3: Geilo – Myrdal – Flam – Sognefjord – Bergen, Norway

Start a full day of exciting sightseeing today with the train from Geilo to Myrdal; the mountainous starting point for the world-famous Flam railway. The Flam track winds steeply through one of Norway’s most stunning valleys, offering breathtaking views and photo opportunities. Look out for the mysterious ‘Hulda’ at one of the waterfall stops. The day continues on with a 2 hour fjord cruise in Sognefjord, the deepest fjord in Norway and another photogenic place of outstanding natural beauty. Complete this special day with the scenic drive down to Bergen, to relax for the evening.

Day 4: Bergen – Hardangerfjord – Oslo, Norway

Relax this morning with some free time to enjoy Bergen, the city surrounded by fjords and soaring mountain ranges. Then, travel the breathtaking Hardangerfjord road to Oslo; be ready for jaw dropping views at every turn.

Day 5: Oslo, Norway – Gothenburg – Malmo, Sweden

Take in the views on your trip south from Oslo this morning. The lunch stop is in lovely Gothenburg, a charming port city founded in the early 1600’s and now highly regarded for its urban culture, food scene and canals lined with elegant Neo-classical buildings. Arrive into Malmo, on Sweden’s southern tip for an evening at leisure to admire the many striking modern structures, including vast Oresund Bridge; connecting Sweden with Denmark.

Day 6: Malmo, Sweden – Copenhagen, Denmark

After breakfast and check out this morning, fully experience the scale of Oresund Bridge as your coach crosses over the sea and tracks down into the Drogden Tunnel, leading on to Denmark and Copenhagen. Then meet your local guide for a 4 hour city tour. See the Little Mermaid and Gefion Fountain; the Royal residence Amalienborg Palace and Nyhavn Canal with its charming outdoor restaurants and picturesque cafés; the Christiansborg Castle, home of the Danish Parliament; the Royal Opera House, and many more sights. The city tour concludes with a visit to the wonderful Tivoli Gardens, part cultural hub, amusement park and garden in the heart of the city. Relax for the rest of the day and evening.

Day 7: Copenhagen, Denmark

After breakfast and the transfer to Copenhagen Port, board the MSC Meraviglia for your incredible 16 night Transatlantic cruise to New York City.

Here, where the Titanic was so carefully built, you can see beautifully restored Victorian architecture. Enjoy the true Irish experience at the lively waterfront, which is a friendly hub of live music, overflowing pubs and modern art.

Day 19: Sydney, Canada

Welcome to Sydney Nova Scotia, Canada’s quaint harbour town on Cape Breton Island. Experience the cities heritage, stemming from the booming industrial industries of steel mills and coal mines, that was what Sydney was known previously for, all whilst wandering the streets amongst wooden 18th-century buildings. Be sure to visit Cossit House, one the islands oldest buildings, for a real taste of life in the 18th-century. Whether it be taking a walk through the past, or enjoying a scenic picnic in Petersfield Provincial Park, overlooking the Harbour – Sydney, will be a beautiful stop on your adventure.

Day 20: Halifax, Nova Scotia

The city’s dominated by the hilltop Citadel, a star-shaped fort completed in the 1850s. Halifax was long defined by naval operations. The 18th-century Citadel still stands guard, but today overlooks a thriving city whose restored waterfront features historic architecture, shops, museums, bars, restaurants and more.

Spend your day visiting the prosperity bull on Wall Street, seek out panoramic views from the Empire State Building and gaze upon the city from the architecturally pleasing Brooklyn Bridge. You’re also spoilt for choice with the Guggenheim and the Met.

Day 23: New York City, United States

MSC Meraviglia is the newest vessel to join the ever growing MSC fleet, christened in May 2017. She is equipped with extraordinary features including unparalleled dining and stellar entertainment with numerous panoramic areas, an innovative ocean-view lounge area, a two-deck “inside promenade” with a 480 square metre LED dome and a spectacular amusement area connected to an outdoor water park. PASSPORTS
Copies of passports valid for 6 months beyond trip completion is strictly required at the time of booking. You are liable for all fees due to incorrect or incomplete full names, or passports lacking the required validity.

VISA
Tourist visas are not required for Australian and most other nationalities travelling to Scandinavia and the Baltics region:
Except for Russia, where cruise passengers can take advantage of a no-visa 72 hour entry allowed while in port, on strict condition that passengers are part of a licenced guided tour, such as a shore excursion.

BAGGAGE POLICY
Each person is entitled to a strict maximum of one checked bag not exceeding 20kg, plus one carry-on bag not exceeding 7kg. However, you are strongly encouraged to pack lightly below these limits, as you will be required to carry your own bag between the coach and hotel rooms, and to and from any other transport, while travelling to multiple cities and hotels.

ITINERARY
The indicative itinerary and its order are subject to change based on local conditions and as we see fit to ensure the smooth and safe operation of the tour.
The indicated length of trip includes time in flight and is subject to change depending on the prevailing flight schedule to be provided when you receive your final documentation.

TIPPING
Tipping for guides and drivers is not required but is appreciated at the end of the land tour.
Mandatory Norwegian Cruise Lines ship-board tipping has been included in the package price.

CHILD POLICY
Persons under 12 years old are not permitted on this tour. Children over 12 must be accompanied by a responsible adult of 18 years or older.

TRIPLE SHARE
Triple share is available, usually in the form of an extra share bed added to a standard double room.

FITNESS
A basic level of fitness is required for full days of brisk walking with intermittent breaks. This tour is not suitable for people requiring assistance or walking aid.
