Day 1: Milan, Italy
Welcome to Milan, a metropolitan city in Italy’s northern Lombardy region. Milan is said to be Italy’s city of the future, where money talks, creativity is big business and looking good is an art form. Milan is home to Leonardo da Vinci’s mural of The Last Supper, hidden away on a wall in Basilica di Santa Maria Delle Grazie. It is a sight not to be missed. When you are not gazing at the masterful displays of da Vinci’s work, spend your day strolling through the cobbled streets, taking in the cities spectacular fashion. Visit the Duomo, an extravagant gothic cathedral and Galleria Vittoria Emanuele II, followed by a spot of aperitivo hopping.
Day 2: Lake Como
Today, enjoy a full day tour from Milan to the fairytale village of Lake Como, know for it’s dramatic scenery, nestled against the foothills of the Alps. This is a great way to discover the timeless beauty of the Italian lakes. With a mix of guided walking tours to learn about the unique history of the area, a scenic cruise on Lake Como itself, to admire the beautiful lakeside villas and gardens& free time to explore the region on your own. today is a day not to be missed. You will return back to Milan this evening.
Day 3: Milan, Italy
Enjoy a final day in the cosmopolitan city of Milan at your leisure. Visit your favourite museum, shop at the array of boutique stores or enjoy a day filled with authentic food. There are endless ways to spend your day.
Day 4: Rome, Italy
This morning travel by rail from Milan to Rome, where you will watch the scenic countryside pass you by. On arrival in Rome, make your way from the train station to your hotel, where you will enjoy your 2 night stay.
Day 5: Rome, Italy
Endless adventures await in Rome. With two and a half thousand years of history, art and culture, it is no wonder Rome is one of the most visited cities on the planet. Gaze at the masterpieces of the Vatican or walk into the past with visits to ancient relics, historic monuments and legendary museums. Or people-watch while sipping on an espresso in a quaint cafe.
Day 6: Rome, Italy
Make your way to the cruise terminal today and embark your ship for the adventure of a lifetime. Sail out of Civitavecchia.
Day 7: At Sea
Your day at sea will allow you to take full advantage of everything the ship has to offer. Seek out hidden treasures and make the most of the facilities onboard. All of the ship’s activities can be found on the vessels daily newsletter. If relaxation is on your mind then your sea day will allow you to sit back, soak in ship life and watch the world as it floats by you.
Day 8: Santorini, Greece
Santorini is one of the most formidable islands in the world, famed for beautiful food, pristine water and unrivalled sunsets, in the foreground are the postcard whitewashed buildings. Perceptions are had about the lost city of Atlantis being located here due to Santorini’s subtle mystery.
Day 9: Athens, Greece
Welcome to Piraeus, the port city of Athens. It is the oldest city in Greece, a guaranteed highlight is the mystical Acropolis, perched high in the hills. Just because this city is vintage don’t think that you’ll be stuck in the past – it is juxtaposed against a modern city filled with shopping, restaurants, culture and beautiful art.
Day 10: Mykonos, Greece
Explore this quintessential Greek island with pristine white houses with blue accents and beautiful beaches. Once you’ve seen one of the famous sunsets, you’ll understand why this is the most visited island in the region!
Day 11: Corfu, Greece
One of the lushest of the Greek Isles, Corfu is rimmed in dramatic blue waters and topped with tranquil hillside villages. A collection of quaint cafes in the town of Corfu feels very continental, but the island’s secluded coves and sandy beaches could only be found in the Greek Isles.
Day 12: Valletta, Malta
Valletta is famed for its historical aspects including churches, curated gardens, palaces and piazzas. The Magisterial Palace now houses the Maltese Parliament in it’s centuries-old structure.
Day 13: Messina (Sicily), Italy
Stroll through Messina’s Piazza Cairoli taking in magnificent fountains and cathedrals, or sip Marsala wine at a sidewalk cafe. Messina welcomes cruise ship visitors with its lovely harbour, extraordinary architecture (much of which survived a disastrous earthquake and tidal wave in 1908) and wonderful food.
Day 14: Naples, Italy
Cruise to Naples, located on Italy’s stunning Amalfi coast, a city embellished in history. Touring around Naples’ grand piazzas, cathedrals and castles in the old centre will fill that cultural need. Pompeii is not too far either, a dashing city that boasts diverse cultural offerings and charming streets.
Day 15: Florence (Livorno), Italy
Florence, the capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. Florence’s most iconic sights are the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, Ponte Vecchio, Palazzo Vecchio & Piazza della Signoria. Florence is also home to the famous David of Michelangelo statue. Florence is a beautiful city best explored on foot, however, if you wish to venture away from the city, Florence may be your starting point for a day trip to see the Leaning Tower of Pisa, explore the Tuscan villages or the colourful seaside towns of Cinque Terre.
Day 16: Rome, Italy
Disembark your cruise today and make your way to the airport. Farewell Italy & all it’s beauty as you fly home.
