Cochem boasts some of the most enchanting sights in the Moselle River wine region, and you’ll have a chance to immerse yourself in them in various ways. Take in the steep vineyard-covered hillsides and the distinctive profile of an imperial castle – the stunning Reichsburg Castle.
Day 7: Remich, Luxembourg
Scenic Cruising: Cochem to Remich
The old historic town of Remich is the pearl of the Moselle with a magnificent panorama of vineyards and dense forests that surround the city. Pass through the gate of the ancient fortress “Porte Saint Nicolas” in honour of Saint Nicolas, revered as the patron saint of fishermen and boatmen. Cozy terraces, tasting of Luxembourg’s best wines, a boat trip on the river… Remich offers a broad range of activities for all age groups.

Scenic Cruising: Bernkastel to Koblenz
Today you will find yourself in Koblenz, a 2000-year-old town situated on the Rhine and Moselle rivers. Stroll through the much loved Parkinsel, well known for its old-growth ash, oak, field maple & hawthorn trees that line its many pathed walkways. Head to the city centre to visit Rhineland-Palatinate’s premier modern and contemporary art museum, with the distinctive abstract external artwork it almost leaps out at you.
Day 11: Strasbourg, France
Scenic Cruising: Heidelberg to Speyer to Strasbourg
Strasbourg is invariably described as quaint, a rather overused word that in this case is perfectly apropos. Whether you see it via a canal boat or on foot with an insightful local expert, this historic town with its cobbled lanes, half-timbered homes, giant stork nests, and impossible-to-resist pastry shops will win your heart. Situated halfway between Paris and Prague, the Alsatian town of Strasbourg is known as the “Crossroads of Europe.” It’s also located right on the border of France and Germany, which has resulted in Strasbourg’s unique blending of those nations’ traditional culinary and architectural styles. Choose which way you wish to explore it: with a panoramic tour or by rambling through the vibrant streets of Grande Île.
Day 12: Breisach, Germany
Scenic Cruising: Strasbourg to Breisach
Set amongst the rolling vineyards between the Rhine River and Black Forrest, Breisach makes the perfect gateway to discover the wine & food-loving culture of the region.
Day 13: Basel, Switzerland

The town’s medieval old town centers around Marktplatz, dominated by the 16th-century, red-sandstone Town Hall. Its 12th-century Gothic cathedral has city views and contains the tomb of the 16th-century Dutch scholar, Erasmus.

Enjoy a full day exploring this area with your guide. Como is a city at the southern tip of Lake Como in northern Italy. It’s known for the Gothic Como Cathedral, a scenic funicular railway, and a waterfront promenade. The Museo Didattico della Seta traces the history of Como’s silk industry, while the Tempio Voltiano museum is dedicated to Italian physicist Alessandro Volta.
